NOMU hakone

Nicolai Bergmann Hakone Gardens welcomes you to Nicolai Bergmann NOMU Hakone.

Our cafe concept is produced by Nicolai Bergmann, a space allowing plenty of natural sunlight to flow through the special roofs.
It was designed with the vision that guests would be comfortably enveloped in the breeze through three big doors and
aroma of Hakone’s nature with interiors completed by Scandinavian style furniture including FRITZ HANSEN and LOUIS POULSEN.
Additionally, Nicolai has specially designed the cafe tables cut out of fallen trees from the Gardens.

The food menu is based on a theme of Danish-style cuisine, incorporating an abundance of vegetables and fruit grown in Hakone and other nearby areas of the garden.
You can enjoy our homemade sandwiches and Smørrebrøds with homemade bread using local wheat, baked daily in the adjacent kitchen.
A variety of sides and desserts such as Danish apple cake and lemon pie are also available and can only be tasted here in Hakone.

The food and drinks can be ordered for take-away and enjoyed in the garden’s benches and pavilions.
For take-away requests, we will prepare your items in a basket for a picnic style meal.

The cafe also offers a shop section where garden goods are sold.
A range of items including preserved flower boxes and original candles can only be purchased here.

On this land of Hakone Gora, we welcome you to enjoy Japan, Scandinavia and nature all at once!
